East Bengal are in talks with former Premier League defender Daniel Fox

Kolkata: Newly-promoted Indian Super League side East Bengal are in positive talks with former Premier League defender Daniel Fox, according to reports. A former England U-21, Fox played for Premier League side Southampton from 2011 to 2014. He also won four caps for the Scotland national team as well.

A left-footed centre-back who came through the youth ranks of Premier League side Everton but didn’t make any senior appearance for them, however, played for the likes of Scottish giants Celtic, Nottingham Forrest and more. He joined Championship side Wigan Athletic last season for an undisclosed fee.

It was also reported that former Liverpool and England star Robbie Fowler could be appointed the manager of the East Bengal. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, but talks are going in a positive way hoping to build a strong squad for the season.
