Bengaluru : East Zone defeated North East Zone by an innings & 210 runs in Duleep Trophy 2026 clash at CoE Ground 2, Bengaluru.
In first innings, Bengal stars Sudip Gharami (146) and Shahbaz Ahmed (167) hammered tons. Kumar Kushagra (55) also scored half century as East Zone survived early collapse and scored 467 in first innings.
North East Zone never recovers from tremendous pressure. Shahbaz Ahmed yet again starred with Ball picking 3 wickets, while Abhijit K Sarkar grabbed 5-fer. East Zone bundled North East Zone on 111 and enforced Follow On.
North East Zone succumbed under pressure. Left arm spinner Anukul Roy picked 5 wickets while young prodigy grabbed 2 as East Zone bundled them for 146 runs.
Bengal allrounder Shahbaz with 167 runs and 4 wickets was awarded Player of the match.
