Barcelona: Brazilian right back Dani Alves makes a sensational return to Camp Nou at the age of 38, after the arrival of his compatriot Xavi Hernandez as the coach of the facility. His homecoming was announced by the club across all their social media handles.

During his first stint at the Catalan club Alves has won almost a the trophies a player can dream of including the prestigious treble and the sextuple. Alves left Barcelona in 2016 to join Juventus, and there on Paris Saint-Germain and finally Sao Paolo in his home town.

The player himself took to Instagram to pen down a beautiful post, showing all his feelings for the emotional homecoming.

Although one might doubt the thoughts of Xavi and the board, upon bringing in a 38-year old defender to sort out the defensive woes of the club, although having a lot of players in the same position, the plethora of experience that the right back brings in, plying his trade over so many different clubs is unmatchable and would be of a great advantage to the club.

It has never been about the money for Alves, who has been the most decorated player of the history in terms of trophy, it’s out of sheer gratefulness and love for the club where he spent eight years in , and the love which he has been very vocal about that made him make the nostalgic return. While his reunion with Xavi will be a very emotional moment for the fans, they would not help but wish the presence of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr at the club more than ever.
