CWG 2022 Day 4 Highlights : Weightlifter Harjinder Kaur adds bronze; Judokas extend medals tally

Birmingham : India bags 3 more medals and taking their medal tally to 9 medals (3Gold-3Silver-3Bronze) on Day 4 in Commonwealth Games 2022.

Judoka Shushila Devi Likmabam opens Indian medal account on Day 4. She wins a Silver in 48Kg category in Judo. While another Indian Judoka Vijay Kumar Yadav wins a Bronze medal in 60Kg category. But India’s third Bronze medal comes at the later part of the day 4, where Harjinder Kaur wins the women’s 71Kg Achinta Sheuli won the mens 73 Kg in weightlifting.

After completion of day 4 in Birmingham, Indian athletes are looking impressive and are advancing themselves in the next round of their respective events. Indian Shuttlers reach final in the Mixed Team event after beating Singapore 3-0. They will face Malaysia in the gold-medal match. While Indian Women’s Lawn Bowl team create history by beating New Zealand Team in a nail biting semi final game by 16-13. Indian Table Tennis team storm into the Final after defeating Nigeria 3-0. They will be facing heavyweight Singapore in the gold-medal match.

Boxers Amit Phangal (flyweight) and Hussam Uddin Mohammed (featherweight) also makes a winning start and enter to the quarter finals. In Men’s Hockey, India manage a draw with the England in a Pool B game in Birmingham. As a whole, day 4 has been a great day for Indian athletes, as the nation find their new heroes.
