CWG 2022 Day 10 Highlights: Nitu Ghanghas, Amit Pangal, Nikhat Zareen bag Gold in Boxing

Birmingham : India bag five gold medals and a total of fourteen medals on day 10 at Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. As a result India retain the 5th position in the Medal tally of 18 Golds, 15 Silver and 22 Bronze with a total of 55 medals.

Golden Moments

The first Gold of the day was brought by Nitu Ghanghas in the Women’s Boxing of 48 kg. Amit Pangal continue with his legacy after winning silver the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Amit fought for Men’s Boxing (51kg). Boxer Nikhat Zaren bagged Gold for India in the Women’s (50kg) category. Sreeja and Sharath clinched the top title for India is TT in mixed doubles. Eldhose Paul leaped 17.03m to clinch Gold for India in Men’s Triple Jump.

Silver Lining
Abdulla Abooba stood next to his Indian counterpart aa he received the Silver medal in Men’s Triple Jump for 17.02m. Indian Table Tennis players Sharath and Sathiyan lost to England to get Silver. England gave the second blow to India in Men’s 92+ kg Boxing, Sagar managed SilverSilver medal from the fight.
Indian Women’s Cricket team had a tough luck despite good performance from many. They lost to Australia by 9 runs to settle for Silver in Birmingham Commonwraltj Games 2022. This was India’s maiden medal at Commonwealth Games.

Brilliant Bronze
Indian shuttler Srikanth Kidambi satisfied sefl with Bronze while Dipika and Saurav lift Bronze medal Squash in mixed doubles. Annu Rani creates history to become the first female Javelin thrower. Rani hit the 60m mark. Athelete Sandeep Kumar stood on the podium to receive his Bronze medal in Men’s 10,000m Race Walk. He took 38:49:21. Indian women’s hockey team beat New Zealand to seal Bronze medal at Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.

Day 11 at the Commonwealth will be very eventful for the Indian contingent. As the shuttlers will be fighting for Gold. The Men’s Hockey team’s eyes is on Gold aa they fight Australia. Table Tennis player Sarath seem to taste Gold in men’s single today.
