Goa: ATK Mohun Bagan were held 0-0 by a spirited Chennaiyin FC side in the Indian Super League at the GMC stadium in Goa on Tuesday (December 29).

Antonio Habas set up his side in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Spaniard Tiri being paired with Sandesh Jhingan at the heart of the defence. Pronoy Halder alongside Carl McHugh formed a double pivot in the midfield. Roy Krishna led the forward line alongside Manvir Singh and David Williams with Edu Garcia playing as a No.10 behind them.

The match started well with both the side having a fair share of the possession on the ball but it was the home side who looked more comfortable when creating chances for scoring but somehow wasn’t finding that finishing touch.

Rafael Crivellaro and Lallianzuala Chhangte were patrolling the side’s attacking moves beautifully despite knowing that how good is the defence of ATK. Krishna went close in an attempt from inside the box but failed to finish while Chennaiyin were stringing passes to good effect.

In the second half, both the sides were going well as well but somehow weren’t getting that final touch which can probably be credited to the pragmatism of the defence of both sides. Krishna was kept more or less mute by the Chennaiyin defence for the most part of the half. But the intensity was there to be seen for all from both sides.

ATK’s heavy relying on Krishna have been a problem lately with the rest of the attacking players have been unable to find the net on a regular basis

Despite his side’s inability to find the back of the net, Crivellaro was excellent throughout the match while towards the end, a few rough plays were seen a lot of fouls were committed by both the sides ending the game sharing the points.
