Munich: Bayern Munich will take the field as hot favourites when they host Chelsea in a round-of-16 Champions League clash on Saturday. Bayern had won the first leg 3-0 at the Standford Bridge and would like to take press hard on the visitors who had just surrendered the FA Cup at the hands of Arsenal last week.

With a domestic double already in the pocket this season, Bayern have been one of the strongest sides in the tournament this season and are also tipped highly because of their high scoring capabilities. They pumped in seven goals against the Spurs at their own den during the group stages.

Robert Lewandoski is the man to look out for as the Bavarians would like to depend on his up front. The Polish goal machine has got staggering 51 goals this season in all competition and not in a mood to stop, and could be a threat to Frank Lampard-coached side. The Blues will also have to be wary about young Serge Gnabry.

On the other hand, Chelsea, fresh from a defeat against the Gunners are tipped as the underdogs against a strong Bayern side and they do accept that. Lampard who captained the side in that famous night in Munich in 2012, is looking for the same upset with his young guns.

Antonio Rudiger and Kart Zouma will have the task to stop the Polish talisman, and Jorginho could be appointed to hold Thomas Muller and Thiago for Lewandoski. Chelsea will be dependent on counter attacks for goals with Oliver Giroud as their poacher.

The French World Cup winner has been good in front of goals post lockdown and will be the man for the Blues, whereas Christan Pulisic and Mason Mount could be the creator. Chelsea after their semifinal loss to Atletico Madrid back in 2014, has never gone past round of 16 while Bayern haven’t played the final since 2013 — the year they were crowned as champions. So both the teams will be up to prove a point.
