Madrid: Newly-appointed Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly contacted his former player Richarlison igniting speculations for a possible transfer. The Brazilian forward played under the Italian’s keen eyes at Everton last season before Ancelotti was appointed by Spanish giants.

Richarlison along with Calvert-Lewin and James Rodriguez formed a potent trident in attacking third helping Everton to a superb start in the early stages of last season at the Premier League but saw a dip in form as the season progressed, eventually ending the season at 10th.

The 24-year-old is not a traditional No.9 offering the best whenever he has been played as a supporting forward to create space and make intelligent runs which were seen in his performances in the ongoing Copa America 2021. He also possesses excellent aerial threat despite not being particularly tall while his defensive contribution and pressing abilities are an added benefit.

Rumours are there that with veteran forward Karim Benzema having very few years left in his prime, the Los Blancos are looking for a potential replacement although no talks are formal at this stage.
