Goa: Kerala Blasters’ bad patch in the Indian Super League continued as they lost another match, this time 1-2 against Mumbai City FC at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim. Bipin Singh and Adam Le Fondre scored for Mumbai City while for Blasters it was Vicente Gomez.
The match started with end-to-end action as Mumbai started to push the Blasters defence with Hugo Boumous and Le Fondre. Le Fondre missed back-to-back easy opportunities within the first 20 minutes.
Blasters on the other hand came close to score quite a few times but were stopped by Amrinder Singh under Mumbai’s goal. With constant pressure, Blasters got their lead on the 27th minute via a Gomez header from a Sahal Abdul Samad corner.
Bipin scored the equaliser on the 46th minute for Mumbai and the table-toppers came back strongly into the match. Kerala started to make silly mistakes while passing forward and they paid the ultimate prize when Mumbai earned a penalty in the 66th minute.
Le Fondre scored the winner as the Islanders march to the top of the table with flying colours.
