Kolkata : Leading from the front, Shakir Habib Gandhi scored an unbeaten 52 off 32 balls while Sujit Kumar Yadav (3-20) impressed with the ball as Adamas Howrah Warriors beat Kolkata Royal Tigers by 7 wickets via DLS Method in the Bengal T20 League Season 3 match at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday.
Batting first, Royal Tigers recovered from 75/7 to post 149/8 in 20 overs, with aggressive unbeaten 37-ball 71 by Ronit Ghosh. Howrah bowler Sujit picked 3 wickets to create initial pressure on Tigers.
In reply, a reduced target of 122 in 15 overs due to rain, Howrah went over the line scoring 124/3 in 13.2 overs despite losing Ankit and Writtick Chatterjee early for 12 runs. Skipper Gandhi played heroic knock of 52*(32) with a six and 5 boundaries to erase off all pressure.
Besides Gandhi, Kazi Junaid Saifi (34 off 23) and Shashank Singh (32 not out off 18) helped defending champion Howrah clinch first win of the season.
