Kolkata: Rashmi Nes Medinipur Wizards beat Adamas Howrah Warriors by 14 runs (DLS Method) in rain-hit Bengal T20 League Season 3 match at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.
Put into bat, Warriors scored a challenging 187/6 in 20 overs, thanks to Shakir Habib Gandhi’s brilliant 47-ball 86. Sachin Kumar Yadav also chipped in with a fine unbeaten 42 off 23.
For Wizards, Aamir Gani (3-18), Debopratim Halder (2-47) were the pick of the bowlers. It is Gani who captained Howrah last season to title win.
In reply, Wizards were 106/2 in 11.1 overs when rain stopped play. With the weather showing no signs of improvement, the match was called off and Wizards were declared winners via DLS Method.
Agniswar Das (52 not out off 34) and Priyanshu Gaurav (29 off 14) were the star batters for Wizards. Opener Agniswar ensured the Wizards kept dominance throughout the innings with half century – 52* (34) including 2 sixes and 5 boundaries.
