Bengal T20 Challenge: Ramesh Prasad bags four as Tapan Memorial beat Mohun Bagan

Kolkata: After beating East Bengal in their previous game Tapan Memorial continued their superb run in the tournament by beating Mohun Bagan by 42 runs. Ramesh Prasad’s 4-wicket haul led to the victory in Bengal T20 Challenge on Friday (November 27) at Eden Gardens.

Electing to bat first Tapan’s all-rounder duo Sandipan Das and Shahbaz Ahamad powered them to 154/3 in their quota of 20 overs. In reply, Mohun Bagan were bundled out for 112 runs as Ramesh Prasad bagged a 4-wicket haul to continue his impressive performance.

Tapan Memorial skipper Shahbaz said, “All the players are performing really well, team intensity is high. We have a good set of all-rounders in our team. Ramesh, Prayas are bowling very well and the team bonding is also improving with each game.”

Ramesh bagged 4 leaking just 15 runs to deal maximum damage while Prayas Ray Burman took 2, Debopratim Halder and Gaurav Chauhan picked 1 wicket apiece.

Shahbaz missed on his maiden fifty of the tournament by one run after being caught by Vivek Singh off Sayan Ghosh while Sandipan stayed unbeaten on 50 off 31 deliveries.
