Babar Azam fastest to reach 13 ODI tons; overtakes Virat Kohli, Hashim Amla

Centurion: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is one of the best batsmen in the world. The right-hander continued his impressive performance in ODIs with yet another century in the first of the three-match series as Pakistan clinched a thriller against South Africa

With this century, Babar added another feather to his cap becoming the fastest batsman to reach 13 ODI tons. Playing his 78th ODI on Friday, Babar smashed an unbeaten 103 runs to guide his team to a three-wicket win.

 Babar has taken just 76 innings to achieve the feat going past former South Africa star Hashim Amla who until now was the fastest, having scored his 13th ODI hundred in 83 innings. India skipper Virat Kohli scored his 13th in 86 innings.

With this thrilling win, Pakistan has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Pakistan will be playing three ODIs and four T20Is in their tour of South Africa. The second game will be played on Sunday.
