London : Australia and South Africa battled each other in heated encounter where pacers dominated each other’s teams in first day of WTC Final at Lord’s.
Australia Batting first, lost 4 wickets for 67 runs. Steven Smith (66) & Beau Webster (72) notched up 79 runs partnership and eased pressure. Alex Carey (23) also played handy knock. However, another collapse bundled Australia to 212.
Kagiso Rabada picked 5-fer while Marco Jansen picked 3-fer.
South Africa upon coming to Bat faced fiery spell of Mitchell Starc as he picked both openers Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton (16) early. Josh Hazlewood & Pat Cummins also picked wickets of Tristan Stubbs & Wiaan Mulder respectively as South Africa finished on struggling note of 43/4.
