Madrid: Atletico Madrid confirm the signing of Luis Suarez from Barcelona and will be paying the Uruguayan six million euros, according to reports. The 33-year-old striker, who is going to join the arch-rival for two years, bid his final goodbye to Nou Camp on Thursday (September 24).
When Suarez was found leaving the Barcelona training centre in tears, on Wednesday (23 September), the reports were confirmed that he came to say his final goodbye to his teammates and friend Leo Messi.

The transfer saga of Suarez kept on brewing throughout the transfer window. He was linked to Juventus and Atletico Madrid. He even went to Italy to take his Italian language test. An investigation is going on for the same, accusing Suarez of using unfair means to pass the examination.
Finally, it was confirmed that Suarez is going to sign for Atletico which will keep him in Spain and hence in La Liga. He leaves Barcelona as the club’s third-highest goalscorer with 198 goals since signing from Liverpool in 2014.
“I feel I’m capable of continuing to compete in this league,” Suarez said. “When Barca told me they weren’t counting on me, there were many calls, many offers, but I was able to go to a team that can compete as equals with two great teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid. I had no doubts.”
