Kolkata: ATK Mohun Bagan has confirmed the signing of Edu Garcia for the upcoming season, the club announced on Thursday. Garcia, the former Real Zaragoza midfielder signed a two-year deal with the Kolkata side.
“I am very happy to play in Kolkata and in the ISL for another two years. I am looking forward to wearing Green and Maroon jersey and will give my best to the club,” Garcia said in a statement. Garcia made his La Liga debut in 2016 for Real Zaragoza.
In 2017-18 season Bengaluru FC swiped a one year deal with Garcia and was an instant hit, as he scored on ISL debut against Mumbai City FC. Then he was being sold to Zhejiang Greentown FC in the Chinese Super League in 2018. He thus became the first player to be traded from ISL to the Chinese Super League. Garcia returned to India last season and signed for ATK in ISL.

Last season, the Spaniard scored six goals in his 16 appearances and played a pivotal role for ATK in their title triumph — third ISL trophy in six years — beating Chennaiyan FC 3-1 in the final at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa. Garcia was one of the scorers in the final. His pair with Roy Krishna and David Williams was too lethal and this year too people will witness this attacking trio in Green and Maroon colours.
