China : India start their Asian Games Football campaign in Hangzhou, China with a major 5-1 defeat against China.
China’s Giao Tianyi (17th min), Dai Weijun (51st min), Tao Qianglong (72nd and 75th minute), and Hao Fang (90+2) all found the net, while India’s Rahul KP’s (45+1 minute) equaliser from an acute angle was a standout moment in the match.

An unprepared, without practice session and fatigued team India went on the Field to face the hosts China, the men in Blue gave an equal fight to China in the 1st half, despite conceding an early 17th minute goal, scored by Giao Tiany, Rahul KP , however, scored a brilliant goal breaching Chinese defense and giving India the equaliser in the extra time of 1st half.

The 2nd half saw India in a different mode as they seemed completely out of control, lack of coordination and have given up, the Chinese challenge proved to be too strong for the weakened Indian team to handle as China scored 4 goals in this half thereby ensuring a massive 5-1 victory.
India will now face Myanmar and Bangladesh in further Football Matches of Asian Games to move forward.
