Kolkata : Indian camp stationed at Bengaluru ahead of the Panama friendly reached full attendance after Sahal Abdul Samad, Manvir Singh, and Anwar Ali joined the camp on Sunday.
The three players were the last to join the camp because of prior commitments. Sahal, and Manvir were playing for Mohun Bagan in the Calcutta Football League, where the Mariners went on to win the competition for 31st time. Sahal scored a brace and vital assist in the virtual final against Mohammedan yesterday.
Anwar Ali was part of the East Bengal team that drew 2-2 against Jordan side Al-Hussein.
India will take on Panama on September 26 at the Sree Kanterava Stadium before high intensity clashes with Brazil in a highly-anticipated clash at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on October 3. The Blue Tigers will then face Uruguay on October 6, also in Kolkata.
India’s 26-member squad for the two clashes features the likes of Ryan Williams, Rahim Ali, and Vikram Partap Singh in attack, while players like Anirudh Thapa, Farukh Chaudhary, and Mohammed Sanan will make up the midfield.
Indian Goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is expected to be the custodian between the sticks, while Akash Mishra, Anwar, Jay Gupta, and others will form the defence.
