Dubai: Indian skipper Virat Kohli might have taken a paternity leave from the upcoming tour of Australia after the primary Test, however, he’s still prepping for the matches that he’s supposed to play.
His wife and mommy-to-be Anushka Sharma took to her Instagram Stories and shared a picture of Kohli. “Caught the husband diligently cleaning his muddy spikes before the tour,” she captioned the image. In the image, Kohli is seen carefully cleaning his shoes with a toothbrush.
Virat and Anushka are all set to welcome their baby in January 2021. The couple announced their pregnancy news on social media in August. Anushka was with Virat in the UAE, for the Indian Premier League.
The BCCI has granted Kohli a paternity leave and he will return from Australia after the opening Test match, scheduled on December 17 in Adelaide. The tour will start on November 27 with a three-match ODI series, and three T20Is, beginning on December 4, and four Test matches.
Board secretary Jay Shah said in a statement, “The BCCI has granted paternity leave to the Indian captain. He will return after the first test against Australia in Adelaide.”
