Vadodara : Delhi Capitals defeated UP Warriorz by 7 Wickets at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara in Match 6 of WPL 2025. Annabel Sutherland’s 2/26 & 41*(35) played vital role in Delhi’s 2nd win of the tournament.
UPW Batting first started off well with 66 runs partnership in powerplay. Kiran Navgire (51) played vital role in the powerful start.
However, they faced a collapse after the powerplay and were reduced to 118-5 (15).
A vital 44 runs partnership between Shweta Sehrawat (37) & Chinelle Henry (33*) brought UPW score to 166-7 (20).
Chasing 167 runs, Delhi took an aggressive approach with Shafali Verma (26) & skipper Meg Lanning (69) smashing 65 runs opening stand in 7 overs, but lost Shafali & Jemimah Rodrigues in quick succession for 70 runs.
Lanning was well accompanied by Annabel Sutherland (41*) for 49 runs partnership.
After Lanning’s dismissal on 119 in 14.4 overs, Delhi still needed 48 runs in 32 Balls.
Sutherland joined by Marizanne Kapp (29*) brought Delhi to winning position.
With 11 runs required off the last over of Tahila McGrath, Sutherland smashed 2 boundaries and ended the match with just 1 Ball to spare, earning player of the match.
DC have now won 2 matches while UPW faced 2nd defeat and are winless.
