Borussia Dortmund win their first match of the season, as Jude Bellingham and Marco Reus create history

Duisburg: Borussia Dortmund, had a dream start to their season. The men in yellow and black, who thrashed MSV Duisburg 5-0 to advance to the second round of DFB Pokal, had a lot more to celebrate.

Not only did they win the match but how incredibly! The debutant Jude Bellingham made club history and Marco Reus, who came off bench after seven month broke another record. The Bundesliga giants opened their scoring, when Jadon Sancho scored from the spot.

Bellingham scored the second goal in the 30th minute and became the youngest ever goalscorer for Dortmund at the age of 17 years and 77 days.

 

Two more goals were added by Thorgan Hazard in the 39th minute from an astonishing free kick and Giovanni Reyna scored in the 50th minute with a free-kick, although via a deflection off Alex Witsel. Reus was subbed in, at 57th minute and he scored a goal within three seconds and broke Köln’s Anthony Modeste’s 12 second record in DFB Pokal.

The Dortmund fans must be sighing with relief as Reus found his rhythm back as he is one of the most important player of the team, his fitness and form would help Dortmund win titles this season.
