Kolkata : ISL Club FC Goa have completed signing of 29-year-old Spanish centre forward Christian Isabel, also called ‘Chiki’ for one year deal ahead of 2026-27 season. This will be his first stint outside Spain.
The Spaniard joins the Gaurs after an impressive career in Spanish football, where he has represented clubs including Rayo Vallecano B, CF Fuenlabrada, UD San Sebastián de los Reyes, and AD Alcorcón. A prolific goalscorer with a keen eye for goal, intelligent movement, and strong link-up play, Chiki brings valuable experience and attacking quality to FC Goa ahead of the new campaign.
Known for his sharp positioning inside the penalty area, clinical finishing, and relentless work ethic, Chiki is capable of leading the line while also contributing to the team’s pressing and build-up play. His versatility across the forward line and consistent goalscoring record make him an exciting addition to the Gaurs’ attacking unit.
Commenting on the signing, Lokesh Bherwani, Director of Football, FC Goa, said, “We are delighted to welcome Chiki to FC Goa. He is a forward with proven goalscoring ability, extensive experience, and the characteristics we were looking to add to our attack. His movement, finishing, and professionalism will give us another dimension in the final third. We are confident he will adapt quickly to our environment and make a significant contribution to the team.”
Head Coach Gouramangi Singh added, “Chiki is an intelligent striker who understands the game extremely well. He works hard for the team, is always a threat in and around the box, and has consistently shown his ability to score goals. His experience and mentality will be important for our squad, and we’re excited to have him with us for the upcoming season.”
Speaking after joining the Club, Christian ‘Chiki’ Borrego Isabel said, “I’m very happy to join FC Goa and begin this new chapter in my career. I’ve heard many positive things about the Club, its passionate fans, and its ambitions. I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates, working hard every day, and helping the team achieve its objectives. I can’t wait to wear the Orange jersey and give my all for the supporters.”
