Kolkata : North 24 Parganas beat South 24 Parganas by 8 wickets in the summit clash at the BCA, Kalyani on Saturday to emerge champions of CAB Inter District Senior Women’s T20 Tournament.
Batting first, South 24 Pgs could only manage 116 runs, with Payan Vakharia (26) and Piyali Ghosh (22) putting up some fight. However, North 24 Pgs bowlers – Priyanka Sarkar (2/20), Jhumpa Roy (1/5) and Tanusree Sarkar (1/16) restricted run flow and took regular wickets to restrict South 24 Pgs to low total.
Chasing 117 runs, Tanusree Sarkar (53*) scored magnificent half century along with Dyuti Paul (42*) anchor innings to take North 24 Pgs past the target in 17.1 overs and clinching the championship.
