New Delhi: The stage is all set for the IPL 2022 Mega auction as the auction is back after four years where 590 players, 370 Indians, and 220 overseas players would go under the hammer, as the 10 franchises are all in readiness to bid for the players in what promises to be an action-packed bidding war, spread over two days, to pick up the best cricketing talents from around the world. The buzz is quite noticeable on social media as fans are going gaga to watch their favorite players in action.

When and where is the IPL 2022 auction?
The auction is scheduled to begin at 12 pm, but the official coverage will begin at 11 am.
The auction will be held over a 2-day period on both February 12 and 13 at Hotel ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru.

Where to watch online live streaming of the IPL auction?
The IPL 2022 auction will be telecast live on Star Sports 3 and Star Sports HD. You can also watch the live streaming on Disney+Hotstar.

Have teams retained any players before the mega auction?
Yes, a total of 30 players have been retained by the eight existing franchises, while the two brand new teams Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans have acquired three players each.

How many players will be part of the bidding on the first day?
Only the first 161 players will be up for bidding on Saturday. The second day will continue with the same process.

What is the lowest and highest base price?
The lowest is INR 20 lakh and the highest is INR 2 crore.

What are the minimum and maximum players each team needs to have in their squad?
By the end of the auction, each team should have a minimum of 18 players and a maximum of 25 players in their squad.

Who are the youngest and oldest players in the auction?
The youngest player in this auction is Afghanistan’s left-arm wrist spinner 17-year-old Noor Ahmad.
The oldest player in the auction is Chennai Super King’s Imran Tahir.

Who will be the auctioneer?
It will be Hugh Edmeades. He took over from Richard Madley in 2018 and has been hosting the IPL auction ever since.
