San Sebastian: Barcelona thrashed Real Sociedad 6-1 away from home on Sunday and continued their unbeaten run in the La Liga. This victory helped them to pressurise on league leaders Atletico Madrid who are four points clear of Barca.
The match started on a slow pace but it took a lift on the 37th minute after birthday boy Antoine Griezmann opened the scoring for Barcelona. Sergino Dest scored the second goal in the 43rd minute.
The second half started with a bang as Dest scored his second in the 53rd minute and Lionel Messi scored the fourth in the 56th minute. Ousmane Dembele added the fifth goal in the 71st minute.
Ander Barrenetxea scored a consolation goal in the 77th minute and Messi ended the match with a goal in the 89th minute and assuring a 6-1 victory over their rivals.
