Goa: Hyderabad FC came from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco on Thursday. Sunil Chhetri and Leon Augustine scored for Bengaluru while Aridane Santana and Fran Sandanza were on the scoresheet for Hyderabad.

Bengaluru had a lot at stake as they looked to put an end to their seven-match winless run. The match started on a positive note for Bengaluru as they started to attack and press the Hyderabad defence.

Captain Chhetri broke the deadlock on the ninth minute from a Cleiton Silva free-kick. A cute finish from the Indian legend. Bengaluru could have scored their second goal after five minutes after a shot from Celiton went past the post.

Hyderabad could have hit back with Aridane and Halicharan Narzary in the first half but they missed the open goal. In the second half, both the teams upped their tempo and started to press hard.

Hyderabad started to play their free-flowing football which they have been playing for the season, but couldn’t score past Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. Augustine doubled the lead just after the hour mark. However, Manolo Marquez’s side had other plans.

With intense pressure on the defence, Aridane reduced the deficit on 86 minutes. Sandanza scored the equaliser on 91st minute spoiling Bengaluru’s party.
