Sydney: Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the ongoing Test series against Australia due to the dislocation of his left thumb. He underwent successful surgery and promised to ‘return with a bang’. He tweeted, “Out of action for a while. surgery completed. But will soon return with a bang!”, on Tuesday (January 12). Jadeja suffered the blow when a rising delivery from Mitchell Starc hit his thumb on the Day 3 of the 3rd Test against Australia. Before the injury, he was the most successful bowler in the first innings claiming four wickets for 62 runs.
Jadeja’s injury has been a major loss to the Indian team. Apart from the all-rounder, Hanuma Vihari, who is suffered a hamstring strain, Mohammed Shami injured with an arm fracture and Jasprit Bumrah who has reportedly suffered an abdominal strain are expected to miss the Final Test.
