Sydney: Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has joined India’s growing list of injuries as he will miss the fourth and final Test in Brisbane due to an abdomen injury. The Press Trust of India (PTI) claims Bumrah suffered a minor strain during a fielding mishap at the SCG, and the fast bowler will not be risked at the Gabba.

“Jasprit Bumrah suffered an abdominal strain while fielding in Sydney. He is going to sit out of the Brisbane Test but is expected to be available against England,” a BCCI source told PTI.

It is understood that Indian team is not keen on risking Bumrah who has an abdominal strain, which could also be a tear. Bumrah had already shown visible signs of discomfort due to the strain during the second innings of the Sydney Test.

According to a report in India Today, opener Mayank Agarwal, who was dropped from the third Test, got hit on his hand and has gone for scans. The right-hander will replace Hanuma Vihar in the final Test if scans show no fracture. Notably, Vihari incurred hamstring injury during the third Test at SCG.

India have also been weakened by the absence of Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, KL Rahul. All hopes was on Jasprit Bumrah but now he will be the latest man to join the list.

It is now expected that the debutant Mohammed Siraj will be leading the Indian attack and will be joined by Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur and T. Natarajan in the Brisbane Test. The final Test in Brisbane is scheduled to kickstart from January 15.
