Mackay: Veteran India women’s pacer Jhulan Goswami added another feather to her cap, as she completed 600 career ODI wickets in the third and final game of the series against Australia on Sunday. The hosts won the series 2-1.

The 38-year-old had a disappointing outing in the first two matches, picking just a wicket. Goswami returned with figures of 3/37 from her 10 overs to play a key role in India’s consolation win on Sunday and was also adjudged Player of the Match.

The Bengal native got the crucial wickets of Rachael Haynes, at the start of the ninth over. Four balls later, Goswami claimed the prized scalp of skipper Meg Lanning to claim her career’s 600th wicket.

She is ranked amongst the greatest bowlers to ever play women’s cricket and is already the highest wicket-taker in WODIs with 240 scalps in 192 matches so far. Goswami has 41 wickets in 11 Tests. Goswami has retired WT20Is with 56 wickets under her name. She has so far claimed 336 wickets in international cricket while the other 264 came in domestic cricket.

With this victory, India also broke Australia’s 26-game unbeaten streak in ODIs. Chasing Australia’s 265/8, India romped home in the last over winning by just two wickets. This was also India’s best win while chasing.
