Porto : Cristiano Ronaldo will be featuring for Portugal as they booked their berth in the Qatar World Cup 2022 with an emphatic 2-0 win over North Macedonia. Bruno Fernandes scored a brace to help sail Portugal to the World Cup.

Bruno scored a goal in each half, the Manchester United player helped Portugal qualify in the World Cup for six consecutive times. After North Macedonia handed an upset to the reigning Euro champions, it was concluded Portugal would not have a easy time defeating them.

Ghana advanced to the World Cup main events, as they held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw and qualified on the basis of away goals rule. The first leg ended in a goalless draw at Kumasi. But during the second leg the away goal from Thomas Partey helped them go through.

Ghana will be making to their way to the World Cup first time since 2014, whereas Nigeria qualified for six of the last seven World Cup and will be missing out on this edition. Egypt also crashed out as they lost 3-1 against Senegal in penalties. Mo Salah will not be featuring in the World Cup.

Egypt approached the match with a 1-0 aggregate lead after the win in the first leg, but it was all square just a few minutes after kickoff as Hamdi Fathi scored an own goal after a poor clearance. The match ended in a 1-1 draw in aggregate, and Senegal got the better of Egypt in penalties.
