New Delhi: Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is reportedly considering to play in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL). The stylish left-hander has retired from international cricket last year and is eligible to play in overseas T20 leagues as the BCCI doesn’t allow functioning players to take part in foreign T20 tournaments.

Following his retirement, Yuvraj took part in the Global T20 Canada as well as in Abu Dhabi T10. Reportedly, he is now focusing to become the first Indian player to play in the BBL. His manager Jason Warne confirmed that Cricket Australia (CA) were interested in finding the former Indian player. “We’re working with CA to try to find him a home,” Jason was quoted as saying to The Sydney Morning Herald on Monday (September 7).

Yuvraj Singh’s interest towards BBL comes after the former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson stated the league would benefit from the existence of Indian players. “There is a chance but no Indian players have been able to be released in the past to come and play at the (other) T20 tournaments so that’s a big hurdle,” Watson said.

Watson is currently preparing himself for Chennai Super Kings ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in the UAE from September 19, said that the availability of Indian players would make a ‘massive difference’.

“It would be incredible for them to be able to play in these tournaments. That is the ideal situation. There are so many world-class T20 players in India that aren’t playing for India that could be potentially available to play in the Big Bash and other tournaments around the world. If that’s able to happen, that would make a massive difference,” he added.
