Birmingham : India Champions defeated Pakistan Champions by 5 wickets at Edgbaston, Birmingham in final of World Championship of Legends to lift the title.
Chasing a target of 157 runs, Ambati Rayudu (50) gave India a flying start .
Despite losing Robin Uthappa (10) & Suresh Raina (4) early, Rayudu & Gurkeerat Singh (34) notched up 60 runs partnership to bring Indian in commanding position.
When the pair got dismissed in 13th over, India were 108-4 in 12.4 overs.
Yuvraj Singh (15*) & Yusuf Pathan (30) successfully finished the Match , accompanied by Irfan Pathan’s (5*) winning hit in last over, bagging the title for India.
In 1st innings, bowling 1st, India dominated Pakistan. Anureet Singh’s 3-fer , Irfan Pathan, Pawan Negi’s economical spell pushed Pakistan to backfoot.
Shoaib Malik (41) , however, brought Pakistan to a respectable total of 156-6 (20).
India who struggled throughout group stage dominated both the semi final & final to clinch the title under the leadership of Yuvraj Singh.
