Kolkata: Within a very short span of time, SC East Bengal made some huge changes and signings as they geared up for their second stint at Indian Super League. From bringing former Real Madrid coach, Manuel ‘Manolo’ Diaz to sign an array of wonderful foreigners, it has been an eventful month . The most interesting part will be to see whom, Coach Diaz hands the responsibility of leading the Red and Gold Brigade to the trophy.
1. Raju Gaikwad- SC East Bengal had years old tradition to choose the senior most player in terms of days he had been at the club , to be chosen as the captain. Although it has not been the case since 2018-19, but it highly likely to happen this time. Hence that happens Raju Gaikwad shoulder be the one handed the arm band . Infact, a lot of reports state that Raju Gaikwad is probably going to be the chosen one.
2. Arindam Bhattacharya- Arindam Bhattacharya is set to be the main guardian at the goal for SC East Bengal this season. The ISL Golden Globe award winner hold a very commanding nature than can propel head coach to hand him the band.
3. Tomislav Mrcela- Absolutely rock solid in his role, Tomislav Mrcela has high chances of being elected the captain given his talent. Manuel ‘Manolo’ Diaz can surely make his best guard on the field , the one to lead them through the victories.
Although , beside them, Indian stopped Adil Khan can also recieve the band. Amarjit Singh Kiyam who has led Indian in the FIFA U-17 WORLD CUP is also super worthy of the title. Diaz can also make his first foreign signing, Amir Dervisevic the skipper. The final name is yet to be announced but it seems that the Red and Gold Brigade are gonna go blazing all guns this season.
They start their campaign against Jamshedpur FC on November 19.
