Dubai: Swashbuckling West Indian batsman Nicholas Pooran got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Alyssa Miguel on Tuesday (November 17). Sharing the big news on his social media the left-handed batsmen wrote, “God has blessed us with a great blessing. I am glad to announce that @kathrina_miguel and I got engaged. Love you Migz I got you.”
After Pooran, Kathrina also shared the same picture on Instagram and wrote, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Ecclesiastes 3:11. Being loved by you is a blessing I thank God everyday for. Love you @nicholaspooran.”
Both Nicholas Pooran and Kathrina were recently in the UAE for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. He was playing for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), led by KL Rahul. Though his team couldn’t make it to the playoffs, Pooran impressed everyone with his match-winning knocks.
Kathrina was seen in the stands, cheering for her partner throughout the competition. According to reports, after his successful stint with KXIP in IPL 2020, Pooran has been named as the vice-captain for the West Indies T20 squad for the New Zealand tour.
Meanwhile, Pooran is currently in New Zealand with the West Indies squad for the T20I matches which will start November 27. Following the end of the series in New Zealand, he will travel to Australia to play in the Big Bash League (BBL) for the very first time in his career.
