VP Suhair signs for NorthEast United FC ahead of ISL 2020-21

Guwahati: NorthEast United FC announced the signing of ex-Mohun Bagan attacker VP Suhair ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL) on Wednesday (September 30).

“I am very excited to be a part of the Highlanders family and play in the Indian Super League. There will be a lot to learn from Head Coach Gerard Nus and Coach Khalid Jamil, and I cannot wait to join the rest of the squad for pre-season,” Suhair said on his joining.

Speaking on the signing, NEUFC executive director Priya Runchal said, “Suhair’s performances in last season’s I-League really impressed the coaching staff at the club and we believe he will be an important addition to the team’s attack. He is a player who has the knack m of finding the net and we are excited to see how he contributes to the team for the season ahead.”

Suhair was a key player for the title-winning Mariners squad last season, netting twice and assisting as many times to mark off an eventful campaign. Having begun his career for the State Bank of Travancore team, Suhair has represented Kerala in the Santosh trophy and also had stints at Gokulam Kerala FC, East Bengal and United SC.
