Tyson Fury has been ranked as the best heavyweight boxer around the globe by ‘Ring Magazine’ ahead of his competitor Anthony Joshua. Fury won the WBC and ‘The Ring’ heavyweight titles after he knocked out American Deontay Wilder earlier in February and overpowered his British rival at the top of the division.

The ‘Gypsy King’ is also slated to face Joshua in two heavyweight fights in 2021 and is going to be one of the most highly-expected encounters in boxing history of Britishers.  Meanwhile, according to Ring Magazine’s rankings, Joshua has now gone down to second after he lost his unbeaten streak last year in 2019.

Also, the Watford-born boxer underwent an impact due to his setback to Andy Ruiz Jr in June, last year but he salvaged the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO titles and had a successful rematch in December 2019.

Beneath Joshua in the rankings list is Dillian Whyte, who had displaced Wilder directly on the third spot. The British boxer had also won against Oscar Rivas and Mariusz Wach in 2019 and is now set to conquer Russian Alexander Povetkin this month.

Meanwhile, Wilder is also expected to take on Fury for third time in December this year which could considerably profit his place in the rankings. Cuban boxer Luis Ortiz, who forfeited to Wilder last year in November, is now ranked fifth whereas Povetkin is just below him in the sixth position.

Joseph Parker, Michael Hunter, Oscar Rivas occupy the next three spots in the ladder, as Joshua’s next opponent, Kubrat Pulev, complete the rankings. Joshua was supposed to take upon the Bulgarian earlier in June at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the session was suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic.
