Tickets for 3rd IND-NZ T20I at Eden Gardens sold out in 15 minutes

Kolkata: Cricket has certainly returned to India after the uncertainties of several months due go Covid-19 related issues with even the IPL and the T20 World Cup also taken out of this cricket crazy nation. However, the sport returned to India with the India-New Zealand with fans being given the chance to witness their stars again.

Such was the buzz sorrounded around it, that tickets for the 3rd T20I match between India vs New Zealand at the Eden Gardens got sold out as soon as it were released online.

“We had released around 1,500 tickets for online sales. But within just 15 or 20 minutes, all of them were sold. So you can certainly imagine how the response has been from the fans,” stated Debashish Ganguly, the Cricket Association of Bengal treasurer.

“Given the current scenario, it will be very surprising if not all of the allotted (47,000) seats are filled up. The respective clubs have also already picked up 30 per cent of the tickets reserved for them,” Ganguly further added.

As per reports, the online sale of tickets began on Monday, while the CAB started distributed tickets for its members on Tuesday. Despite India sealing the series 2-0, and the match being a game of formality, the excitement among the citizens of Kolkata is there to see.

Rise of the excitement went to such parameter that even quite a few members, reportedly after having collected their tickets, were greeted with the very familiar request, “Extra hobe? (Any extra ticket?)”, though this has always been the case whenever this iconic venue had hosted any international game, regardless of the format.
