T20 World Cup 2021: David Warner follows Cristiano Ronaldo’s act

Dubai: Australian opener David Warner came with all smiles in the post-match press conference after the 7 wicket victory over Sri Lanka in Dubai last Thursday.

The veteran south-paw starred for the Aussie line-up hammering a 42 ball 65 to seal the victory.

However, he made headlines for certain different reasons after re-enacting a Cristiano Ronaldo stunt removing Coca-Cola bottles placed in front of him before the start of the conference.

“Can I remove these? Though I have to put it there.” Warner asked grabbing a couple of soft-drink bottles.

“If it’s good enough for Cristiano, it’s good enough for me. That’s right,” then he added while putting bottles back.

Cristiano Ronaldo, the mercurial Portuguese footballer did the same during a press conference ahead of match against Hungary in UEFA EURO earlier this year. The 36-year-old picked up a bottle of water saying “Agua!” in Portuguese, urging people to choose clear water over  sugared drinks.

Ronaldo’s act conference reportedly cost the global beverage giant Coca-Cola a whopping 4 billion USD. However, nothing like this has been reported after the re-enactment of Warner.
