Suresh Raina’s uncle killed after midnight attack by unidentified assailants

Pathankot: Former Indian cricketer, Suresh Raina’s uncle was killed while four other relatives were critically injured in a brutal attack in Pathankot’s Thariyal village, as per reports. The attack took place on the night of August 19. Unidentified assailants believed to be the members of ‘Kale Kachhewala’ gang attacked them with lethal weapons, while the family was asleep on the terrace.

It is believed said that Asha Devi, sister of Raina’s father is fighting for her life in the hospital, while his uncle, identified as 58-year-old Ashok Kumar lost his life in the attack. Ashok Kumar’s 80-year-old mother Satya Devi also sustained serious injuries with Raina’s cousins — 32-year-old Kaushal Kumar and 24-year-old Apin Kumar also sustaining injuries.

“Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time: KS Viswanathan, CEO,” the Chennai Super Kings tweeted.

While the cricketer is yet to give any statement regarding the matter, but it is going to be hard for the Yellow Army to find his replacement. Chennai Super Kings already have plenty of members tested positive for COVID 19.
