Kolkata: BCCI president Sourav Ganguly took to Twitter on Wednesday to share a message about “starting something today,” which he believes would “probably help a lot of people.”
“Today, I am planning to start something that I feel will probably help a lot of people,” he wrote on Twitter.
“2022 marks the 30th year since the start of my journey with cricket in 1992. Since then, cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me the support of all of you. I want to thank every single person who has been a part of the journey, supported me, and helped me reach where I am today,” Ganguly tweeted.

People began to speculate that he could resign from his BCCI role as a result of this tweet. However, Jay Shah has debunked the rumours, telling ANI that Ganguly has not yet resigned.

In his Twitter update, he also made no indication of his next step, such as where he will go or whether he will resign from his position.
Sourav Ganguly hosted Union House Minister Amit Shah at his Bengal home last month.
Meanwhile, he boasted about his close relationships with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as the dinner encounter aroused discontent in Bengal’s governing Trinamool Congress.
“Our honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is a person very close to me. I had approached her to help up this institute,” he told reporters.
He also dismissed speculation about the Amit Shah dinner. “Speculation is rife… but I have known him (Amit Shah) since 2008. While playing, I used to meet him. There’s nothing more than that,” he said.
