SC East Bengal in search of first ISL win; lock horns against Chennaiyin FC

Goa: The Indian Super League resumes after a two-day Christmas break as SC East Bengal take on Chennaiyin FC at the Tilak Maidan in Goa on Saturday (December 26). SC East Bengal are winless till now will look to get their first three points of the campaign.

Their last match against Kerala Blaster ended all square with both the sides scoring one each meant SC East Bengal are standing at the bottom on the points table with just two points. Robbie Fowler will hope that his side improve their defence to make something happen for them while they will depend heavily on Anthony Pilkington and Jacques Maghoma

Chennaiyin on the other hand will come into this after a 2-1 win over FC Goa in their last game, with hopes of getting three points which could bring them into the top-four following their two consecutive victories. While their coach Csaba Laszlo made points about the possible threat Est Bengal can create as they would be hunting for their first win.

“East Bengal have good football players; they are a new team that needs to adapt to the ISL. I saw that in the starting few matches they weren’t good but they are improving and it will be a difficult challenge for us for sure,” Laszlo in his pre-match press conference.

While he will hope that this side convert their chances for scoring goals as that has been an issue with his side and also considering how good the midfielders have performed especially Rafael Crivellaro and Anirudh who had been in some good touch.
