Chennai: Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur and Harbhajan Singh will miss the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) training camp starting in Chennai from Saturday (August 15). While Bhajji will miss the training camp due to some personal problems and will join MS Dhoni and team on August 19. Thakur and Jadeja will also miss the training for same reason.
As reported by TOI, a source was quoted as saying, “Harbhajan and Thaur had a few personal commitments and we understand that. However, they have already started training on their own. So we are not worried about them missing the camp. They are expected to join the squad by August 19.”
Meanwhile, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Deepak Chahar, Piyush Chawla, Kedar Jadhav, Monu Singh have reached Chennai to start their training from August 15.
The players will not be allowed to enter swimming pools and visit gyms during their training period as a safety measure in this pandemic. The players will again undertake the COVID-19 test on Monday — the first test was done last Wednesday. The main focus of the camp will be skill training the team and the players will leave for UAE on August 21. As per reports, CSK team will be staying in a resort near the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The IPL 2020 is scheduled to be held in the UAE from September 19 to November 10.
