Ranji Trophy Elite: BEN vs UTK, Day 3: Bengal end innings on high, Uttrakhand display late fightback

Kolkata : Bengal bowlers were made to sweat against Uttarakhand on Day 3 in their Ranji Trophy Elite match at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

After bowling out Uttarakhand for 213, Bengal posted 323 in their first innings. Uttarakhand, in their second innings, were 165/2 at stumps with a 55-run lead.

Prashant Chopra (82) and Kunal Chandela (68 not out) impressed for Uttarakhand. Akash Deep (1-39) and Vishal Bhati (1-39) were the pick of the Bengal bowlers.

Bengal Batters Sudip Chatterjee (98) & Sumanta Gupta (82) narrowly missed out on scoring century.

Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (20*), Vishal Bhati (15), Akash Deep (19) played good cameos to end Bengal’s innings with good 110 runs lead.

Despite losing early wicket for 1 run, Uttrakhand Batters – Prashant Chopra (82), skipper Kunal Chandela (68*) played crucial knocks to bring them back on track, taking lead of 55 run, losing 2 wickets on 165.
