Kolkata : Bengal’s prolific batter Abhimanyu Easwaran continued his phenomenal form by smashing a brilliant unbeaten 127 while Sudip Chatterjee (93) , coming back to Bengal after 2 years, did shine again as Bengal gathered three points after draw against Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match in Lucknow on Monday.
Sudip was awarded the Player of the Match for his heroics with the bat in both innings.
Earlier, after posting 311 in their first innings, Bengal bundled out UP for 292 to take the all-important first innings lead.
In their second innings, Bengal looked in total control with openers Easwaran and Sudip adding a massive 212-run stand to extend the lead further.
Easwaran struck 12 boundaries while first-innings centurion Sudip hit nine boundaries.
At 254/3, Bengal declared their innings to hand a 274-run target to UP.
Chasing the total, UP were 162/6 at stumps on the fourth and final day. Priyam Garg scored a fine unbeaten 105.
For Bengal, Md Kaif (2-4), Mukesh Kumar (2-58), Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (1-4) and Shahbaz Ahmed (1-50) were the pick of the bowlers.
