Goa: What a fantastic end to end action! Rahul KP scored a last-minute goal as Kerala Blasters clinched an emphatic 2-1 victory against Bengaluru FC at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim. This win helped the Yellow Army to the ninth spot with 13 points.

An acrobatic first-half effort from Cleiton Silva handed Bengaluru the lead in the 24th minute before substitute Lalthathanga Khawlhring netted an equaliser on 73 minutes. The game looked to be heading for a draw before Rahul scored a brilliant individual effort in injury time.

The first half went like this as the Bengaluru boys were playing better than what they have been in their last five matches and while Kibu Vicuna’s men lacked the final ball and were promptly punished by a Bengaluru goal that came arguably against the run of play.

Kerala has the knack of stealing matches lately and they did a similar thing on Wednesday. Bengaluru keeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu went down after using his body to block a powerful Gary Hooper shot from close range. With Gurpreet still on the ground, Sandeep Singh fired the ball back into the box. After a melee, the ball finally broke free for Lalthathanga, who netted the equaliser.

After that goal, the match opened up as both the defence seemed pretty submissive, and Bengaluru came close to score in the stoppage time. From that counter-attack in the 90+4 minute, Rahul scored a solo goal and sealed the deal for Kerala.
