Paris: Lyon clinched a major success as they had a 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain last night. However, PSG lost Neymar due to an ankle injury after a challenge from Thiago Mendes. A dull performance was presented by the former Champions during the last few minutes.

Lyon started in good spirits, though Alessandro Florenzi’s tight angle volley went quite close. A dangerous right-wing cross was cleared by Danilo Pereira after a mistake from his team-mate Abdou Diallo. Yet in the 35th minute Lyon’s Kimpembe passed the ball to Ekambi, who netted it through Kadawere. Before the break, a strike from Florenzi was nicely stopped by Anthony Lopes.
Situation worsened for PSG in the closing stages as Mendes’ awkward challenge on Neymar resulted the Brazilian star, to be carried off in tears. Neymar crafted just one chance and failed to register a single attempt, and he could now face a long spell out if the ankle injury is as severe as his reaction suggested.
