Paris : Imane Khelif has filed lawsuit against Elon Musk, JK Rowling over their comments regarding the gender controversy saga that fired Khelif throughout the Olympics.
Imane Khelif, a woman Boxer with high testosterone level sparked controversy in Paris Olympics after her opponent Angela Carini withdrew in 1st match in 46 seconds.
This match sparked controversy all over the world calling Khelif “Biological Male”. She was also disqualified from World Boxing Championship 2023 for failing gender test.
However, IOC allows Women with High testosterone level to participate in Olympics, as they’re biological Women. Khelif also made statement that she was born and brought up as women, she’s a woman. She, despite calls for her disqualification by IBA, continued to fight as per rules and went on to win Gold Medal in Women’s Boxing.
But, Elon Musk, JK Rowling didn’t back themselves from supporting the statements of gender row, calling Khelif as “biological male“.
JK Rowling tweeted “Could any picture sum up our new men’s rights movement better? The smirk of a male who’s knows he’s protected by a misogynist sporting establishment enjoying the distress of a woman he’s just punched in the head, and whose life’s ambition he’s just shattered”.
Elon Musk reacting to a post of swimmer Riley Gaines “Men don’t belong in women’s sports ” replied, “Absolutely“.
Even Donald Trump is under radar of Khelif’s lawsuit. Trump posted in social media, “I will keep men out of women’s sports.”
Khelif only broke her silence on the matter after winning the gold medal at the Paris Games.
“Now the whole world knows the story of Imane Khelif,” said Khelif. “It’s a dream for every athlete. If I qualify or not? If I’m a woman or not? I made many statements in the media. I’m fully qualified, I’m a woman, I was born a woman, I lived a woman, there’s no doubt about that”.
“These people [who claim I am not], they are the enemies of success, it’s what I call them, it gives my success a special taste because of these attacks”.
“… I hope that people will commit to the Olympic charter and its values. We’re here to perform to our audience and families. I hope we will not see similar attacks in these Olympics”, Khelif concluded.
