Leeds: India lost 8 wickets for 53 runs in the morning session on Day 4 handing England a series leveling victory by an innings and 76 runs in the third Test at Headingley Leeds on Saturday. Olie Robinson(5/65) lead the charge second innings as Joe Root and his troops bundled India out for 278 with the visitors didn’t even last till the lunch break.

Craig Overton(3/47)  joined hands with Robinson getting through India’s middle and lower order in quick succession. Cheteshwar Pujara(91) and Kohli(55)’s resilience went in vain as the visitors fell apart like a pack of cards crumbling under pressure.

England bulldozed India for a couple of days by packing them up for a mere 78 in the first innings before Joe Root(121) lead the hosts to pile up 432 runs taking a lead of 354. In reply, Pujara led India’s fight-back, with support from first Rohit Sharma and then Kohli after an early loss of KL Rahul. Both skipper Kohli and Pujara finished on the day unbeaten adding 99 runs but the duo were unable to add any more to their overnight score as Robinson trapped the later for 91 on Saturday morning.

India’s skipper though managed to complete his half-century having been under pressure for not getting enough runs however, he failed to capitalize into a big knock falling to Robinson for 55. The batting collapse followed soon after that. Rishabh Pant disappointed with the bat in both of the innings horribly while the tail had too much to cope with as England bowlers scattered them apart moving the ball subtly with the conditions suiting them in the morning.

Although Ravindra Jadeja played a breezy 25 ball 30 but that wasn’t enough to deny India a loss at the hands of England who leveled the series with two more games to play.

Robinson was named Player of the Match taking 7 wickets in the games. The two sides will now meet at Kennington Oval in London in the fourth Test starting from Thursday(September 2).
