Manchester: Problems for Manchester United boss Ole Gunner Solskjaer seemed to strengthen after Paul Pogba followed Bruno Fernandes in accepting that something has been going wrong following the disappointing results.
“We have been having these kind of games for a long time and haven’t found the problem,” Pogba said . “We have conceded easy and stupid goals.”
Manchester United had quite an disappointing 4-2 loss at the hands of Leicester City following a 1-1 draw against against Everton and a 1-0 loss against Aston Villa at home. With a series of disappointing results , Pogba and co. figured it to be a high time to bring changes into the team.
“We know that the fans were going to push and put pressure on us and we need to be more mature, play with more experience and arrogance — in a good way — by taking the ball and playing our football.” added the Frenchman.
“We need to find the key for this change because we deserved to lose. I don’t know if it is the mindset of the players. We need to change something. We need to find the mentality and tactics to win. We have to look as individuals and as a team to fix this.”
Not long before, after the draw with Everton , Fernandes addressed to the situation and almost cleared out the problems.
“We have to learn and the time is now,” Fernandes said. “We cannot do this anymore. We did it so many times, we cannot slow the game down when we’re winning.
“We have to make it quicker, score once again, get one or two more goals and after that, maybe you can slow it down and make them run a bit more.”
Although neither of the comments were directed at Ole, but senior players publicly display their exasperation is a sign that big changes need to come.
Manchester United will be playing Atlanta on Wednesday , October 20 while the weekend they will be hosting Liverpool, who are at the top most form.
