Ole Gunner Solskjaer to stay despite humiliating Liverpool loss

Manchester: Ole Gunner Solskjaer seemed likely to remain as the head coach of Manchester United even after a series of disappointing performances including the utter 5-0 quashing by Liverpool in the Premier League.

Reports in England claimed Ole to be in a hot seat, and former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte as the most probable contender to replace him. A string of bad decisions saw senior players like Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes openly speak about the dire requirement of changes and it not only piled the pressure on the coach but also fueled the desire for his departure.

Along with the aforestated, a huge backup behind Ole being sacked was said to be Sir Alex Ferguson’s disappointment in Ole’s decisions which were caught on camera, during Manchester United’s match against Everton and Liverpool.

However even after claiming it to be the ‘darkest day’ in his life, Ole remains confident of himself and his team.

“We’ve come too far as a group and we’re too close to give up now,” he said on Sunday. “I’ve heard nothing else [about a potential departure]. This is the lowest I’ve been, but as I’ve said, I accept the responsibility”

“I do believe in myself, I do believe that I am getting close to what I want with the club, I think what we’ve done, what I’ve seen, the development, of course, the results lately haven’t been good enough. But I’ve got to keep strong and I do believe in what we’ve been doing, the coaching staff and the players.” added the Norwegian.

Even with the Conte speculations, there have not been any concrete conversation between the Club and the former Chelsea manager, hence presently it seems like Ole is set to stay at Manchester United.
